The TCS motorsports 2GRFE Modular Y-Pipe is built to fit any and all of your 2GR swap needs! We have designed this part so it could be used in a number of different chassis or engine combinations. Our Y-pipe is designed to work with the Frankenstein Motorworks CAST headers that were recently released. They will NOT work with the older style tubular Frankenstein Motorworks headers. Please contact us if you are not sure which style of headers you currently have.
The TCS Motorsports 2GRFE Y-Pipe is made from 304 Stainless steel with a properly sized flex pipe built into each bank. Once the Y-Pipe merges into one 3" collector, there is a Male/Female locking V band flange that makes installation a breeze. If you are putting this Y-Pipe in a NON SW20 MR2 chassis (for example, a Spyder or MK1 MR2), you have a great starting point from which to fabricate an exhaust system. If you have an SW20 MR2, then you will just install one of our adapter pipes that bolts directly up to a compatible exhaust system!
Currently at release there will only be 2 options to choose from. The standard Y-pipe will bolt directly up to EITHER of the most recent revisions of the TCS Motorsports exhausts (the TCS Single Muffler Dual Exhaust, or the TCS Dual Muffler Dual Exhaust). If you would like the Y-Pipe to bolt up to the Berk Technology exhaust, there is an option to purchase an adapter that will allow the Y-pipe to bolt directly up to the Berk exhaust!
PLEASE NOTE: WE WORKED EXTREMELY HARD TO MASS PRODUCE A PRODUCT THAT WOULD PERFORM WELL, FIT ALL POSSIBLE TRANSMISSION/AXLE POSSIBILITIES, AS WELL AS FIT NUMEROUS EXHAUST SYSTEMS WITH THE BEST POSSIBLE GROUND CLEARANCE. DUE TO THIS, THE Y-PIPE SITS VERY CLOSE TO PARTS OF THE OIL PAN ON SOME 2GR MODELS. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND LOOSELY INSTALLING THE Y PIPE, AND MARKING ALL POSSIBLE CONTACT POINTS, THEN REMOVING THE Y-PIPE AND USE A GRINDER TO CLEARANCE AS NEEDED. THE MOST COMMON SPOTS THAT NEED CLEARANCING ARE ONE OF THE UPPER OIL PAN 'RIBS', AND SOMETIMES A LONG STUD THAT IS INSTALLED ON THE UPPER PAN ON SOME 2GR ENGINES.
